| Rangiya (Assam): A woman was nabbed today by the police in the Kamrup district of Assam on charges of trafficking 6 underage children including 4 girls and 2 boys.
Police rescued all these children and apprehended the woman from a bus that was on its way to Rangiya. Police informed the media that the woman was taking the children to New Delhi in a train after reaching Rangiya. The woman admitted her guilt in front of the police after she was interrogated.
Child trafficking incidents like this has posed a serious challenge in front of the police making it difficult to monitor them. Police said that different child trafficking rackets are now operating in different parts of India and attempts are on to bust each one of them. |
