| New Delhi: NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) have been ordered by the Supreme Court to probe the children trafficking racket that has been operating since a long time onwards in different parts of India.
Recently, it has been noticed that children are being trafficked to Tamil Nadu from north-eastern states like Assam and Manipur.
The court asked NCPCR to enquire on the matter and submit its report within a month. The hearing is scheduled to take place in May.
The government of Tamil Nadu was also directed by the Apex Court to provide the whereabouts of the 76 children whom the police rescued from the state. |
