| New Delhi, Aug 17: It is expected that India would be granted access to the Blackberry Messenger Service by Research In Motion Ltd. pretty soon. The facility is supposed to be available by 1st September.
It is expected that the Canadian enterprise would be providing the agencies with access on a manual basis. Information would only be provided for various phone numbers if the government requests for the same.
The officials of Research In Motion Ltd. who have provided the said information have decline to be named as the discussion is still being kept under wraps. RIM is supposed to provide automated solutions that would be used to track messages from Blackberry smart phones. This facility is supposed to be available from November onwards.
Officials from RIM, which is based in Waterloo, Ontario, would have a meeting with technical officers from Department of Telecommunications, India. The company is also trying to create a solution that would allow corporate e mails to be accessed. |
