New Delhi, Aug 13: BlackBerry maker Research In Motion expressed optimism about coming to a solution on the current issue of lawful interception of its services.

A three-member delegation of Research in Motion discussed the issue with Home Secretary G K Pillai. The delegation, led by Vice-President Robert E Crowe today exchanged words with Pillai on government's notice to RIM and telecom operators and to make lawful interception of BlackBerry Enterprise Services and BlackBerry Messenger Services available to security agencies before August 31.

Talking to the reporters after a half-an-hour meeting Crowe affirmed that he is optimistic about a speedy solution.

August 31 is the deadline set by the Government for RIM and telecom operators to address its security concerns. Blackberry may face a ban in the country if they fail to come up with a technical solution.
