| New Delhi: Can Indians ever fulfill their dream of traveling in a bullet train in the nation itself that would travel at a speed of 350 Km/hour?
The government is now considering the proposal of introducing bullet trains like those in Japan, in collaboration with 3 different companies, which include an Italian and a French firm.
A study is now being conducted to analyze the feasibility of this futuristic project. Proposals are being laid to construct a 533-km long railway track for the same that will connect Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune junctions, the report of which is likely to be produced in the month of January 2010. The final decision will indicate whether the government will go ahead with such a scheme or not.
RITES is conducting the feasibility study in association with the Italian and French companies. Huge amount of monetary investment along with advanced technological resources are needed to implement this project successfully. |
