Kolkata: Do you really have it in you to kick start your own business? Do you think you are different from one of those greasy businessmen who is more of a money making machine?

Well, then you MUST be at our next Startup Saturday in Kolkata to be held on 12th of December, in association with Globsyn Business School. Bring out those smart looking jackets from your closet, as we pray December 12th to be much colder, dress up for the winter and do pay us a visit to experience the difference.

Engage into some serious talks, which will certainly not be one of those exhausting discussions bombarded with business jargons. You may just discuss your business plans, to get other's views on it hence generate new ideas. You may also get into some great business networking with an awe-inspiring enthusiastic crowd.

Startup Saturdays are a developmental approach, which signify a step taken ahead by young entrepreneurs. Under the umbrella of the Headstart Network Foundation, SS works out only once a month. A networking hub for entrepreneurs across five cities, the first of its kind took place in Bangalore in March2008. The idea was liked by all and soon picked up pace across cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Start-up Saturday offers a platform to local entrepreneurs, professionals and students to share their business ideas by engaging into brainstorming sessions and talks. This monthly program also gives an excellent opportunity to learn more from successful veterans in the startup scene. The audience is given ample opportunity to participate actively in the discussions and brain storming sessions.

"Initiatives like Startup Saturdays are great platforms for the youth as they foster entrepreneurship. It gives an opportunity to all budding entrepreneurs to come and share their business ideas in front of a well-informed, diverse audience. We at Globsyn strongly encourage such initiatives", says Romit Dasgupta, director at the Globsyn Group.

"We intend to create well-connected local communities across various cities of India, and eventually connect these communities with each other through our upcoming collaboration & networking platform over the next few months. Startup Saturdays are the foundation platform for the formation of these local communities for the ecosystem to connect amongst each other and discover valuable synergies and new directions & possibilities for their businesses", says Mitesh B Ashar, a co-founder at the HeadStart Network Foundation and an active evangelist of the Kolkata startup community.

Motive of Startup Saturdays: -To highlight networking/learning opportunities for established as well as aspiring entrepreneurs and startups.

About Startup Saturdays (startupsaturday.headstart.in)

Startup Saturday is an initiative by Headstart to provide entrepreneurs in each city with a monthly community driven forum that is structured in agenda but open in discussions. A Startup Saturday provides a forum for entrepreneurs to discuss, present, network and learn from peers, prospective customers, adopters, partners and investors.

The fundamental idea is to have all parts of the innovation ecosystem interact with each other with high frequency and through rich conversation. We strongly believe that this would lead to faster evolution of the entire ecosystem.
