Insurance cover for Chhattisgarh workers

| Raipur, May 1: On the occasion of International Labour Day, the Chhattisgarh government today announced a Rs.10 lakh accident insurance scheme for the state's more than three lakh industrial workers.
"The 306,823 industrial workers employed in 3,895 factories will get an insurance cover of Rs.1 million under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Labourers Accident Insurance Scheme," said an official statement.
The statement quoted Chief Minister Raman Singh as saying that the state government was mulling over other schemes such as one to provide health insurance to the industrial workers. (IANS) |
