Bengal to shut Webel Communication |

| Kolkata, Aug 3: West Bengal Information Technology (IT) Minister Debesh Das today said it might not be possible for the government to run the loss-making Webel Communication Industries Ltd following the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) adverse remarks.
"We have to listen to the CAG report. Being in the government, I cannot disobey CAG recommendation," he told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Principal Secretary, IT, Siddharth said: "We cannot continue to run the company with 29 people. We have to stop."
The company manufactures electronic push-button telephones. (IANS) |
