New Delhi, July 9: Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar claimed today that within a few weeks the food inflation rate will come down and people can purchase agricultural supplies at reduced rates.

At present the food inflation rate is around 12.63%. He pointed out that the decline in prices has already started and consumers will themselves experience the decrease in prices within a few weeks.

But according to many economists, food inflation will remain the same on an average for the moment because of the effect of fuel prices that was hiked by the government on June 25. (IANS)
