| New Delhi: Political leaders are now accusing ministers over the issue of price rise on sugar, vegetables and pulses. This has also upset relationships between National Congress Party (NCP) and Congress. Sharad Pawar, who is the NCP Chief and also the Union Agriculture Minister of India is now under tremendous pressure created by different political parties.
Not only political leaders, but even many state ministers, mainly Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati are unhappy with Pawar and his decisions over the issue of price rise on essential commodities.
However, Pawar refrained from taking the sole responsibility for the rise of sugar prices. He remarked that the decision on sugar prices was taken collectively by the Cabinet after a detailed discussion with the Prime Minister of India.
An NGO filed a petition at the Supreme Court that accuses Sharad Pawar of intentionally delaying raw sugar import to uphold the demands of the sugar moguls. The hearing of the case has been scheduled for today. |
