Spicejet is five years old, expects higher growth |

| New Delhi, May 24: Low-cost airline SpiceJet has completed five years of operations, and is expecting higher growth in the coming years.
"Despite the challenges in the business environment, we have been able to sustain our growth and the future looks bright for us," CEO Sanjay Aggarwal said in a statement.
The airline has over 12 percent market share and operates 131 flights daily to 19 destinations across the country.
The government is currently considering a proposal from SpiceJet and another budget carrier Indigo to fly abroad.
The nod from the regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, will come once it is verified that the airline has the financial strength to sustain international operations even when the demand is low.
The airline's fleet size has risen to 20 Boeing aircraft in the last five years. (IANS) |
