Jharkhand seeks Rs.100 crore to fight Maoists |

| Ranchi, July 14: Jharkhand Governor M.O.H. Farook today sought Rs.100 crore from the central government to develop infrastructure for the Special Task Force (STF) involved in anti-Maoist operations.
The governor is in New Delhi to participate in a meeting of chief ministers of states worst affected by the Maoist insurgency with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"The governor demanded Rs.100 crore in assistance to develop infrastructure of STF fighting against Maoists in Jharkhand. The governor also demanded training of state police by paramilitary forces and the Indian Army," said a press release. (IANS) |
