| Chennai: Just a day after BJP demanded resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram, this time it is AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa's turn to join the wagon. She held Chidambaram responsible for the leak of certain portions of the Liberhan report on Babri Masjid demolition. Jayalalithaa further added that the Commission's findings were meant only to serve academic interest.
Her poignant statement was clear and precise. Pointing out the fact that the only copy of the Liberhan report was with the Union Home Minister, it is he who is to be blamed for the untimely revelation of report details. She made a strong remark urging government to make him resign.
She further brought to us the fact that the issue of Liberhan Report has unfortunately suppressed other burning issues that India is currently facing. Stating that Centre has been benefitted by this 'leak' issue, she said that it is more important to pay attention to other concerns like price rise, sugarcane price ordinance, Mullaperiyar dam row between Tamil Nadu and Kerala and others.
She categorically attacked Union government for their role of defending their mistake instead of taking an aggressive role in solving the issues troubling the nation. |
