Shoe hurled at Omar Abdullah at I-Day function |

| Srinagar, Aug 15: A yet to be identified man hurled a brown leather shoe at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the Independence Day function at a heavily-guarded stadium here today.
Abdullah was just about to take the salute after unfurling the tricolour when someone from behind flung a shoe at him, which missed hitting the chief minister.
Unconfirmed reports say that the shoe thrower is a police officer. He was rounded up by Abdullah's security men and taken out of the Bakhshi Stadium, the venue for the Independence Day celebrations.(IANS) |
