But starting solid food does not mean that you stop breastfeeding. According to the medical professionals, breastfeeding should be continued till your baby is 12 months old. Doctors often recommended baby food products like Cerelac. Ensure that the solid food you feed your child is full of fat.
It is not advisable to give low-calorie or skimmed dairy products to the infants less than 2 years. It is from fat that they gain energy for their growth. Ensure that your baby is getting required Omega-3 fat from meat, tinned fish and dairy products. See that lean meat, margarine, low-calorie dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables are included in your child's diet chart. As he children grow up, their tastes change. They become more inclined to snacks, pastries and cakes. But it is always better to avoid these types of high-calorie food.
