Mumbai: A book on the life of Mahatma Gandhi "Bahuroopi Gandhi" will be published in Sindhi language in Pakistan next month, according to the Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal (BSM).

The book, first published in India in 1948, is authored by Anu Bandopadhyaya and is translated into Sindhi by litterateur Zaffar Junejo, a BSM statement here said today.

The book carries a preface by well-known Pune-based scientist Arvind Gupta, and has some caricatures by the renowned cartoonist R.K. Laxman.

The book presents many aspects of Gandhi. For instance, the book discusses how he spun khadi for his wife Kasturba on loom and stitched blouses for her. He was also a hair-cutter, made leather sandals, washed clothes and cleaned toilets.

The book is being published under the banner of Junejo's organization Transformation and Reflection for Rural Development based in Hyderabad in Sindh province of Pakistan.(IANS)
