Bangalore: Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Sunday suffered a fracture in his toe when he tried to avoid a photojournalist who wanted to click him coming out of a restaurant along with his family members in Bangalore. On a private visit, Chidambaram, his wife, son and daughter-in-law and grand daughter were coming out of the restaurant when the photographer tried to take his photograph, sources close to the Finance Minister said. Chidambaram objected to this and in order to avoid the photographer moved to the right, missed a step and tripped, suffering a fracture in the toe of his right foot, they said.

The Finance Minister was attended to by an orthopaedic surgeon at the Mainpal Hospital in Bangalore. The photographer and subsequently the Resident Editor of the daily apologised to Chidambaram and his family, the sources said. (PTI)
