Muzaffarnagar: The house of a Lok Dal nominee was set ablaze by alleged supporters of a former UP minister and a rival candidate in Kandhla town near Muzzafarnagar. Pradeep Pandey, who contested from Kandhla constituency of this district, has filed a complaint alleging that his house was set on fire on Friday by supporters of former UP minister Virender Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP) A B Pandey said. The Lok Dal candidate alleged property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in the fire. Singh also contested from Kandhla on an RLD ticket. The SP said police have registered a case and were looking for those who indulged in the act of arson. (PTI)
