Hoshiarpur: With one fresh case of dengue reported in civil hospital on Monday night, the number of people affected by the disease has been increased to nine in the district on Tuesday, officials said. Dr Kamaljeet Kaur, Civil Surgeon, Hoshiarpur, told that Kushbir Singh (14), son of Pardeep Singh of local new civil lines area, was admitted to the hospital on Monday night. He was referred to Ludhiana under critical condition.
She said that out of nine cases of dengue reported in the district so far, five had been referred to a hospital at Ludhiana, two were recovering in government hospital and two had been discharged. She said that the platelet counts of five referred patients were less than the normal value.
